The 4th of July is America’s biggest celebration which usually involves beer, fireworks, and parades. The celebration is no different in University Park!

Every year, the University Park Community Council puts on a community get together, fireworks, and a parade that travels through most of the neighborhood! However, due to obvious circumstances, the community get together and fireworks at Observatory Park have been canceled but the parade is still on! Factors such as COVID-19 and drought throughout the City of Denver have put a halt to large gatherings as well as firework displays in areas affected by the drought.

The University Park Community Council has thrown together their Re-Envisioned 2020 4th of July Parade! The UPark Parade will take place on Saturday, July 4th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and will travel through University Park.

At the University Park Parade, your fellow neighbors will have their yards decorated in red, white, and blue so hop on your bike and cruise the neighborhood! According to the University Park Community Council, the best way to enjoy this parade is to do 3 things:

1) Decorate your yard with all the red, white, and blue you can!  Light it up for essential workers!
2) Decorate your bikes, strollers, wagons, and self.
3) Enjoy a celebratory walk throughout the neighborhood.

A true community finds ways to come together, even in times where it is difficult. Your true community lies in University Park— discover home and your community at University Park at Arboretum.
