The 40 West Arts District is a state certified Creative District that is located along historic West Colfax and the edge of Lakewood. This amazing project was aimed as a cultural and economic destination to support and promote small, local artists with a place to demonstrate their work and to create a community revolved around creative activities and ventures.
The 40 West Art District manages the 40 West Gallery, an exhibition space as well as the 4-mile ArtLine that goes from Aviation Park to Walker Branch Park. Amazing events such as First Friday Art Walks, the WestFax Chili Cook Off, and the Colfax Art Fest are held within the community on a weekly basis! Whether you are an artist, art lover or admirer, walker, or biker there is some fun to be had throughout the 40 West Arts District.
Transportation to the district is flexible— take the W Line on the RTD Lightrail to Lamar Station, drive and have endless parking, ride your bike, or walk if you live in the area! This is an amazing part of West Colfax that is open year round, requires no fees, and is outside for everyone to grab that bit of fresh air!
